The inspiration behind Nikola Tesla's fascination with electricity was his black cat, Macak. One evening, Tesla stroked the cat's back and his had produced a shower of sparks; this piqued his interest and Tesla wondered, "what is electricity?" Perhaps because of this event, Tesla would go on to harness AC (Alternating Current) electricity.
